Baby Barn Owl

One of the staff found a baby barn owl in a derelict barn, unfortunately the mother was lying dead on the floor.

The staff member took on the role of surrogate mother, after contacting the Barn Owl Trust. They came out to tag her ,and to give information about the best way to care for her.

She was a lovely little owl, and gave us many hours of observing her.

She thrived and is currently in the care of The Barn Owl Trust, who have placed her in an aviary with some other orphans. They will be released together in the spring.

Hopefully she will have a long and productive life
